2018 Pre-Season Projections: Philadelphia Eagles

Coach: Sean Payton 6 PPG

QB: Kirk Cousins 28 PPG

Kirk Cousins cashed in again after landing a fully guaranteed contract with the championship ready Vikings. Weapons around him are elite, with the only problem being the crumbling offensive line. Cousins is much more of a game manager than Case Kennum, bringing a higher floor at the position, but isn’t what you would consider a gunslinger. He’s safe and it will be his receivers that bring out the next level of his game. Cousins has a decent historical ceiling and is a solid top 10 option. 2018 Pre-Season Projections: Washington Redskins

Coach: Mike Zimmer 7 PPG

QB: Jared Goff 27 PPG

I still can’t believe Jared Goff’s turnaround after the disastrous rookie year. I was thoroughly convinced that he would flame out, especially when did didn’t know what direction to watch a sun set. McVay came in and revolutionized the Rams offense, turning their 32nd ranked offense into the 1st ranked offense in the NFL! Goff is a short-intermediate passer who excels with simple plays. His third year will show his progression as McVay introduces more to the offense. Will Goof succeed? Very possible, but I still have my doubts about if he has a cerebral mind. That will be what takes him to the next level, not McVay’s coaching. Continue reading 2018 Pre-Season Projections: Washington Redskins

2018 Pre-Season Projections: Dallas Cowboys

Coach: Jason Garrett 5 PPG

QB: Aaron Rodgers 31 PPG

There isn’t a more matchup proof option than Rodgers, and is widely regarded as the best quarterback in the NFL today. It’s a shame the Packers haven’t been able to build a better roster around him, as they have only brought in one Super Bowl during his tenure. Now 33, Rodgers’s has less than left than he’s played, but there are many great years ahead. No one I would rather have in fantasy, Rodgers just needs to stay healthy and he could lead Brian and the real-life Packers to the promise land.  Continue reading 2018 Pre-Season Projections: Dallas Cowboys

Issue Eleven: The One With The Rankings

What a time of the year. Real NFL games, player rumors, IFL owners confidence levels are at an all time high. Its a great time to be alive. Everyone thinks that they have the team that is going to win it all. Sadly, that just can’t happen. Most of us will be on the outside looking in by mid October and the lucky few that are still fighting for a playoff spot, some are going to come up just short and go into a three month long hiding.  There can only be one winner and after that, there will be 31 losers. In fact there are only two real winners in the IFL and that is Erik and Jason. Fuck Your Faces.

2018 Pre-Season Projections: New York Giants

Coach: Anthony Lynn 6 PPG

QB: Patrick Mahomes 26 PPG

It’s time to see what rocket arm can do. Surrounded by elite offensive weapons and coached by a QB guru, Patrick Mahomes was placed in the perfect situation to succeed. He brings a dual-threat ability that will increase his weekly upside and floor, something that can’t be discounted as we routinely see those types finish at the top of our rankings all the time. (Newton in ‘15 and Wilson in ‘17) There’s some concern that Mahomes comes with inconsistency issues as well as a tough schedule. These are caked into his 26 PPG projection. His upside is the best QB in the IFL. Continue reading 2018 Pre-Season Projections: New York Giants

2018 Pre-Season Projections: Seattle Seahawks

Coach: Ron Rivera 5 PPG

QB: Cam Newton 28 PPG

Cam Newton and his flashy ways have produced an up and down career. Some years he’s by far the best fantasy QB and others he’s barely startable. Heading into 2018, Newton is equipped with a new offensive coordinator, Norv Turner, who has traditionally worked with pocket passers. Turner will be working with one of the most unique skill sets in the NFL and has stated he won’t restrict Newton to just a pocket passer. Newton is getting up there in age, and it will be interesting to see how his body will hold up into his 30s. His projection is right in line with what he did last year, with upside for more and downside for less. Continue reading 2018 Pre-Season Projections: Seattle Seahawks
