IFL, the owners meeting vote is nearly upon us. And I know what a lot of you are asking: When can we trade?
Well the answer is quite simple you bastards: Once we handle the matters at hand. Below you will find the key issues that your vote will directly impact and my reason as to why i feel you should CONSIDER voting a certain way.
When it comes to the IFL, I always think of the league ahead of my own team. Unlike the person in the title of this article who will reverse vote on spite because he has water on the brain, and is one more tequila shot from being an incontinent vegetable. Seriously though, I already have a GM who won’t be named in Minnesota that is in on the shovel to the head of Kyle in Vegas, anyone else?
Expiring Rookie Contract Tenders
The argument against voting in the 2 tender rule is that some GM’s want the ability to continually resign their young studs. News flash: this isn’t an option.
Your options are this : get something for your young studs by voting in the 2 tender rule or get jack shit.
If you decide not to match the contract offer on your young player, you get a draft pick for the round you tendered him at. If you do choose to match then you get to keep your guy like you wanted.
Now this seems pretty cut and dry because you aren’t getting unlimited resigns. That’s bad for the league, and the longevity of the league should always be a driving factor in your decision making. You may be sitting pretty today, but times change. This is a very good rule to keep FA viable and allow you options with your young players. You want to use the FT and TT as they exist? Smart, pay more, get less. The guys who run this league have really thought this through. So the choice is now in your hands.

Schedule Format
You like tradition? Well start a new one buy shoving your fist in your ass each morning. Too harsh?
Look, the double and formerly triple header format is a holdover from a place that shall not be named. The idea should be to keep as many GM’s engaged for as long as possible before they fall apart or are Travis and just throw in the towel at 6-4.
If you are a media person, you should want this change because it will in theory keep people more engaged with your hard work. The proposal will eliminate 4 head to head matches in the opposing conference and in turn create a All Play format vs the AFC or NFC depending on which side you fall.
Essentially you will be playing four 3 week matches in which if you score higher than the 9-16 ranked teams in the opposite conference then you get a win. No more single bad weeks resulting in two losses that suck the fun and competitive drive out of your months of hard work right off the bat. Then it resets for weeks 4-6, and so on.
Opponents of this will say well i like playing the other divisions once every four years because you know, HISTORY and RIVALRIES. Imagine if Lewis, Peru, Damian, Dan, Brian G, Aaron, Mac, and Russell were here. They would say you are out of your fucking mind BARRY.
Let’s try this in practice. I need an example team, someone who is inclined to vote no, but not Barry, but still a dickhead like Barry…who…OH I KNOW! FUCK FACE KYLE!
So Kyle finally did good, well 9-7 and a couple cup cake playoff match ups, but good in his book, first time over .500 yada yada but let’s not focus on his mirage. So, Kyle opens the season ready to KICK ASS AND YELL AND STROKE OUT IN HIS CAR! But he has a bad week 1 and looses to Tiffany who only has good 1st weeks then implodes but he put up an ok score. The next week Kyle wins against Prendo because Prendo is a special kind of bad. Again the score is middle of the road. But the following week Kyle looses a nail biter while putting up a very high score VS. El Raven. Tough, its hard being Kyle.
Under our Current rules Kyle is going to be 2-4, and starts calling Travis for advice. Never a good move. But under the NEW rule Kyle scored enough points to outscore half the NFC. Kyle picks up a win for this and is now 2-2 with 9 weeks to go. Kyle has much more confidence, and in the end, that’s what we all really want right?
The point here besides that we need to murder Kyle, is that the rule keeps the GM’s engaged longer, and would work as anti tanking rule that wouldn’t help the few but the many. You want to fuck off, well your bullshit will now positively affect more teams in the playoff hunt vs just the few lucky ones that face your pathetic ass.

Rookie Draft Order
The issue: Luke and Josh.
The solution: Go to a lottery
It’s sad that we have to address this, but its the world we live in. We can keep it the way it is and you will always wonder if your trade partner will honor the deal, or you can vote for change and have a equal shot at #1 if the pick you hold is a non playoff team.
It also gives the worst teams like Josh and Prendo a chance to get better in theory should they receive the #1 overall vs the #10 that they will get in 2019. So ask yourself Nate Sr. You constantly pick 3rd or 4th, isn’t it time you had a shot at #1 Captain 6-10? And my answer is yes, yes it is.
