Is this the start of a dynasty in Tennessee, or is Jason simple the Vanilla Ice of the league – a one hit wonder who splashed all over the faces of the cloddish AFC owners only to fade away and spend the next 20 years in constant construction mode.

Coach: Bill O’Brien 6 PPG

The very definition of consistency, O’Brien won’t necessarily change things up. But the Texans can’t get any worse on offense, and Watt is back on Defense. O’Brien should move from 4 pts to 6 without much of a problem.

QB: Dak Prescott 30 PPG

After going UNDRAFTED in the 2016 Rookie Draft (only in the AFC, props DJordan for snagging him in the NFC), Jason signed Dak to a cool $950,000 contract in the UDFA Auction. Here’s an interesting note; and one the IFL brass will likely need to make a ruling on. Since Dak was not drafted, is he eligible for a holdout? It’s a moot point this season, as Dak finished 7 points out of 5th place. Whew!  I see ZERO reason why Dak would regress, regardless of any hocus-pocus sophomore slump. In fact, he should take a step forward. With the Cowboys as hungry as a fat kid stuffed in a cage under the counter at Krispy Crème, they will undoubtedly push Dak to be even more aggressive this year. That means more running – which equals more points. You following me here? 30 ppg is probably the floor for Prescott.

RB / WR / TE: Le’Veon Bell 35 PPG, Demarco Murray 25 PPG, Devonta Freeman 24 PPG, Dez Bryat 17 PPG, Marquise Lee 18 PPG

6th Men: Cameron Meredith 17 PPG, Martavis Bryant 16 PPG,  John Ross 11 PPG

This is an offense that must be reckoned with. Le’Veon will probably be the offensive MVP if he can stay healthy and clean. Big if, but even if he does miss time Jason grabbed James Connor to back him up. He reached in the 2nd round, but it’s still disappointing that no one else grabbed him before his pick. Would have been great trade bait.

 

Demarco is back, and his role really shouldn’t change much. I did adjust him for some regression; given the upgrades in the passing attack and the fact the Henry will probably get a few more reps as the season wears on. Still, Murray will be a fantasy stud again this year.

Freeman should fall right back into his same role for Jason. There is a chance he will rest on his laurels after he (eventually) signs a big contract to stay in ATL. But that’s pure speculation, and I don’t believe that most of the guys playing in the NFL ever want to sit back and feel like they’ve made it. Except for maybe Dez Bryant.

SO LET’S TALK ABOUT DEZ!  What’s up with this guy? Is he already over the hill at 28?  Seems like nagging injuries are beginning to be a part of him; and that doesn’t bode well. Still, he averaged 17 ppg last year and there is most certainly room for that number to go back up if Dez returns to form. Jason could have another player who will average over 20 ppg in Bryant, but I don’t think he will. Like most Cowboys fans and players, Dez is a whiny crybaby and a huge P.o.S. who is probably passing around HPV faster than Barry passes out muffins.  He will average 17 ppg until he gets a hang-nail, and then he will sit out the last 6 games of the season.

I might get some flack for picking Lee as Jason’s #5 Offensive player. If that’s the case, get some facial lotion out and proceed to FYF. Lee was the #8 WR in the IFL last year from weeks 7-16. Did you know that? Of course not, because you’re a silly ninny and you don’t do enough research. That’s why Jason beats you!  ANYWAY, Lee DID average almost 18 PPG, and he has finally started to look like the player most analysts thought he would be coming out of USC. Hurns doesn’t have the skills or the pony tricks to become relevant again. It’s Lee and Robinson now, and don’t be overwhelmed with shock if Lee throws up the WR1 numbers.

Let’s take a moment to talk about the AFC. You guys act like Jason didn’t just win an IFL Championship. The trading that takes place with this guy is unreal. Case in point –  earlier this offseason Jason traded Josh Gordon to Decker, a perennial whipping boy, for Ben Heeney. Clearly this was a cost saving move. So, a couple months later, Decker releases Gordon and Jason signs him back for the league minimum. What in the hell is going on here?! Am I taking crazy pills?

Not only does Jason have a top 5 Offense that could outscore the Shitbird Finalists by itself – but he has backups that can step in as starters in a pinch. He is ready for injury, and he’s ready for love. The sweet sweet love that can only be found while have fantasy’s about other men who wear tights while hugging each other to the ground.

I could go on, but we have to get to the defense. Jason has made some important moves lately, whereby the AFC has ensured the he will continue his ownership.

DT: Snacks Harrison 14 PPG

Harrison improved from a solid 2015 campaign, jumping from 11 PPG all the way to 16 PPG. He has become a focal point of a very impressive DLine in NY. I think it will be hard to maintain his numbers from 2016, but even with a slight regression he is still a stud DT.

DE: Jason Pierre-Paul 20 PPG, Arik Armstead 14 PPG

A lot of GMs will disagree with me putting Armstead in here over Wilkerson, but I think two things happen. 1. Armstead outscores Wilkerson this year, after securing a spot at DE on a feisty SF defense. SF will put up points this year, but not that many. Their D will be out there a lot. 2. I think Jason ships Wilkerson. Just a hunch, but that big body contract will be expendable to him once Arik starts to get rolling. Armstead, Buckner, Thomas – That is a nice young DLine in SF. They might find a way to Fk it up though, in true Jed style.

There’s really not much that needs to be said about JPP. You know who he is, and he proved time and again that he’s one of the very best in the NFL and IFL. He should easily score points at a clip of about 3 PPD (Points per digit). Which would put him right around last year’s mark of 20-21 ppg.  We do have some overlap, with Jason also starting Snacks Harrison on the same line. But there is enogh pudding to go around, and I think they both eat. Great DE unit for Jason. I’m high on their production.

LB: Vontaze Burfict 21 PPG, Jerrell Freeman 19 PPG, Eric Kendricks 18 PPG, Nigel Bradham 16 PPG

On paper, this is a beastly unit. But it could be just that; a paper tiger. Burfict is just a suspension or 18th concussion away from being out of the  lineup.  Freeman has some injury history, and ended last year on suspension. Kendricks has injury history, and continues to struggle in some aspects of his game (though his job is safe for now). Nigel Bradham should be steady and consistent. I know some predict a big step forward for him this year – I’m not so fast to jump out in front. But 16 PPG seems safe.

Jason needs to make some moves here.  One of these meatheads is going to lose some PT for something stupid. Lorenzo Alexander can plug and play, but we both know he’s not going to score for us like he did last year. Shaq Thompson is lovely, but he’s still going to come off the field on 3rd down. Bud Dupree is lovely, but he’s not the type of LB you want starting (or playing at all) in the IFL. He is more the type of LB that ends up on Flod’s roster.  Get busy Jason, this position could make or break you.

CB: Jalen Ramsey 12 PPG , Artie Burns 10 PPG

These are two solid corners. Young guys who should be targeted heavily, and able to avoid injury. I like what Jason has here – and they’re on dirt cheap rookie contracts.

S: Sean Davis 16 PPG, Darian Stewart 11 PPG

Davis only scored 10 PPG in 2016, but that number will jump. He’s comfortable in that defense now, and his numbers late in the year reflect that. He could end up as a top S in the IFL, and Jason has him signed to a Rookie Contract for  peanuts.

With TJ Ward roaming the field, Stewart should maintain his presence at FS.  He isn’t a powerhouse, but he is consistent. However, this is certainly an area Jason can improve. He did pick up KJ Dillon, who a lot of people are expecting to make the jump to starter this year. Not so fast KJ. I see another S on the Texans roster that is slotted ahead of him on several depth charts. Jason needs to make some moves when FA opens again – because there are better options that the oft injured Jimmy Ward (who may be losing playing time?).

OFF: Washington Redskins (16 PPG) – A lot of mystery here. New WRs are stepping to the forefront. I don’t think there’s a falloff here, however. If anything, they got better. Cousins Like That.

The crème de la crème.  Jason is delicious this year. He comes off a championship, and actually looks to have improved. We all hope this crazy canuck falls on his face, but I don’t see any way that happens. If he can bolster his LB core, and add another solid S – well look out world.  That’s enough praise. His head is big enough, and I want to make sure he can fit it in his own arse after reading this.
