THE STATE OF THE IFL: 2017 PRE-SEASON PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

QB: Ben Roethlisberger 29 PPG
I think Big Ben is on his last legs. His body is breaking down and it’s difficult for him to play in all 16 games with the wear on his body. His physical style of quarterbacking has been extremely fun to watch since he’s lit the league on fire, but I don’t know if he has what it takes to lead a team to another Super Bowl at this stage of his career. It’s a bad time to only have a couple years left, as the GOAT is still in business and the Pats look like a better bet to win it all than last year. Still, with a returning Martavis Bryant, Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell forming the best trio of weapons in the NFL, Ben is in line for another QB1 season as long as he stays off the trainer’s table.

THE STATE OF THE IFL: 2017 PRE-SEASON NEW YORK GIANTS
Coach: Mike McCarthy 5 PPG
QB: Kirk Cousins 29 PPG
With all the contract controversy, Cousins’ above average play has gone largely unnoticed. He’s been a stud for fantasy purposes, averaging well within the top 10 QBs the last two years. However, entering 2017, he’s lost his top two wide receivers, which makes me questions whether I should project him for a regression. I would take DJax and Garcon over Pryor and Doctson. Pryor will be expected to fill the lid lifter role left by DJax which leaves Doctson to fill the possession Z role in Gruden’s offense. I don’t see much more than a marginal statistical regression as Cousins develops a rapport with his new receivers. It’s not like he’s missing his two favorite weapons, Crowder and Reed.

IFL!!! The most boring time of the year is upon us for the NFL and that means one thing… Predictions will be coming in hot and heavy! I hope you enjoy as I breakdown all 32 teams’ prospects this summer. A couple of things to keep in mind. My projections last year were high. Not extraordinarily high, but the vast majority of the teams finished below what I projected. I am trying to fix that this season with a little tinkering to my projections, but think of this exercise more so to a comparison of all teams.
