NFC Holdout Figures
(Average $ of the top-10 highest paid salaries as of week 1)
A player will hold out if he meets all of the following requirements:
- The player must finish the season in the top-5 in scoring at his position. Statistics are based on the total points earned between weeks 1-16 of the NFL.
- The player’s current salary must be less than the average of the top-10 highest paid players at his position (Top-10 highest salaries will be based off week 1 salaries).
- The player didn’t holdout the previous year. A player is not eligible for holdout two years in a row.
- The player is not currently on a Rookie Contract (RC).
GMs will have two options to resolve the holdout:

- Accept the new contract demands for his holdout year. The GM may choose to accept the player’s new contract demands. The player then signs a new contract with a salary equal to the average salary of the top-10 highest paid players at his position; effective at the start of the new league year (annual 15% increase does not take effect). The length of the new contract (1-4 years) is solely at the owner’s discretion.
- Reject the new contract demands. The GM may choose to release the player prior to the holdout deadline without a salary cap penalty. The player will be free to sign with any team in free agency. If the holdout demands are rejected, the player will be eligible to holdout in the next season if he meets the requirements again.
