So with most GMs now packing their bags in preparation to head to Red Rock for the IFL Rookie Draft in Las Vegas and now all that’s left to do is drop the final AFC two round mock draft.
If you listen to Stadium Junky after you’ve read the article you will be able to hear my rationale behind the picks in the first round for both conferences and Barry’s thoughts on my picks and comments.
The NFC mock may have delivered a few surprises and whilst the AFC mock will contain mostly the same players, the orders will change based on roster need amongst other factors.

ROUND 1
1.01 Josh Jacobs, RB OAK
Cincinnati

Danny has many needs but we all would like a potential RB1. Jacobs has his critics but the opportunity in Oakland is clear.
1.02 David Montgomery, RB CHI
Kansas City

With Mike Davis and Tarik Cohen on the roster, why not complete the set? No doubt Curt takes Monty, that’s if he stays at the 1.02…
1.03 Nick Bosa, DE SFO
Indianapolis

The Colts didn’t really chase a DE in FA, which may be due to the fact Erik was confident of Bosa being there at the 1.03 to pair up with his brother.
1.04 Miles Sanders, RB PHI
Pittsburgh

Spencer loved the 1.03 pick and marches up to the podium with Miles Sanders name on his card. Just what he wanted.
1.05 Devin Bush, LB PIT
Pittsburgh

If Spencer were to go offence it would have to be a receiver, he’s got enough of them though and takes his top LB. Bush is the pick for me as he has no one for company in Pitt, the other Devin has Lavonte.
1.06 Devin White, LB TB
Oakland

Ol’ Craig will no doubt be feeling the pressure in his first IFL Rookie Draft. With that in mind he lays up and takes the LB at 1.06
1.07 N’Keal Harry, WR NE
Miami

The Dolphins would love to see Bosa fall to them here but with the current situation they take the BPA, which is clearly Harry.
1.08 AJ Brown, WR TEN
Indianapolis
It’s pick your poison here for Erik as we hit that wide receiver zone. Brown is ranked higher than Metcalf in many rankings and I think Erik goes with more productive Ole Miss WR.
1.09 TJ Hockenson, TE DET
Buffalo

TJ dropped a bit in the NFC but Travis certainly has a penchant for a TE but all of his main guys are in their final year, which will convince him to take the TE1.
1.10 DK Metcalf, WR SEA
Pittsburgh

Passing on the WRs worked for Spencer as DK falls to him at the 1.10. In year 1 DK projects to be a feast or famine type player but Spencer is deep at the position so can sit back and watch him grow
1.11 Noah Fant, TE DEN
Pittsburgh
Spencer is very deep at WR but we all know of the potential upside a stud TE offers and Fant has all the tools to be that type of player. Rather than take another WR he goes TE in a busy round 1.
1.12 Marquise Brown, WR BAL
Tennessee
The Titans have some big name players on offence but need some depth and Marquise Brown is great value here for the franchise.
1.13 Deebo Samuel, WR SF
Tennessee

Here is the AFC’s homer pick as Jason picks Jimmy G’s latest weapon for the 49ers. Brown and Samuel tick the box of offensive depth.
1.14 Mecole Hardman, WR KC
Cleveland

Mecole Hardman is the flavour of the month and given Tyreek Hill’s current situation, Hardman could be the most productive rookie WR in 2019.
1.15 Darrell Henderson, RB LAR
Cleveland
Cleveland managed to get to the playoffs putting out a lot of WRs but he’d love a productive RB. Henderson could be a sneaky pick at the 1.15.
1.16 Parris Campbell, WR IND
Houston
Nope, Kyler doesn’t make the 1st round, Deano has x2 QBs for 11m. What he does need to do is get some offence

ROUND 2
2.01 Hakeem Butler, WR ARI
Cincinnati

It’s that pick your poison part of the draft and Hakeem Butler is a player that some GMs love, I think Danny LOVES Hakeem.
2.02 Kyler Murray, QB ARI
Pittsburgh

Ok, so yes Spencer has Carson Wentz but with just one year left on his deal and a meh Matthew Stafford, Murray looks like the pick.
2.03 Dwayne Haskins, QB WAS
Indianapolis

The Colts have Sam Darnold right now and may want to lock up another cheap QB to off set the cost of the rest of his high priced offence.
2.04 JJ Arcega-Whiteside, WR PHI
New England

The Pats need some depth at WR and JJAW is paired with a good QB, which should help improve his chances of some production in year 1.
2.05 Clelin Ferrell, DE OAK
Indianapolis

Ferrell may go higher than this but after taking Bosa with their first pick, the Colts lock up another young DE to add depth to their D line.
2.06 Andy Isabella, WR ARI
Cleveland

The first of x3 picks by the Browns! They take the 2nd round wide receiver who’s paired with the number 1 pick in Arizona.
2.07 Devin Singletary, RB BUF
Cleveland

The depth chart in Buffalo is a strange on but taking an RB in the third would indicate they have some faith in former FAU prospect.
2.08 Germaine Pratt, LB CIN
Cleveland
Pratt is a player that is tough to predict what his role will be with Cincy with a plethora of LBs but he’ll have every opportunity to win a spot and snaps, Green Dot U goes LB.
2.09 Josh Allen, DE JAX
New England

NE is banking on Michael Bennett having one more good year so with this pick Allen takes over the reigns at DE for NE in 2020.
2.10 Irv Smith Jr, TE MIN
New England

Much like the pick of JJAW, NE needs some more depth at the receiver position and with the Vikings looking to ship out their incumbent TE, Smith could see some production year 1.
2.11 Justice Hill, RB BAL
Oakland
Ol’ Craig goes with offence in this pick as he looks to try and unearth a nice RB prospect. Hill could see work early as Baltimore tries to run the rock.
2.12 Jonathan Abram, S OAK
Houston

Deano’s safety position needs and injection of youth and points, which Abram could be the perfect solution for.
2.13 Ed Oliver, DT BUF
Indianapolis

Erik has moved Buckner in that ill fated Reuben Foster deal but now needs to replace him, Oliver is the obvious pick here.
2.14 Brian Burns, DE CAR
Pittsburgh

Yet another Steelers pick and after passing on Ferrell earlier, Spencer decides to take a DE with Watt only on a one year deal. Burns is lower due to the LB/DE cloud that hangs over him.
2.15 Kelvin Harmon, WR WAS
Jacksonville

Nate has drafted some pearlers when it comes to 2nd round WRs, Juju being the pinnacle. Maybe he can do it again with Harmon.
2.16 Damien Harris, RB NE
Cleveland

The landing spot was awful for Harris but Cleveland will want more running back shots on the roster so rolls the dice with Harris.
