Welcome back for Article 2 of 16, the history of the 1.15.
Once you read this article, I think you will agree that the 1.15 was significantly better than the 1.16. Overall, it isn’t bad.
This year the two new players who have joined the 1.15 are Jalen Carter who was drafted by Jacksonville Nate and Michael Mayer who was drafted by Arizona Jai. After reading this article, I’m sure that Nate and Jai are going to hope for overall better results. Here is the ranking:
1 of 14: AJ Brown – WR – Drafted by Washington in 2019
AJ Brown is one of the better picks in IFL History. Brown has played for 4 seasons in the IFL and he has averaged 244.05 points over that time. Considering that Brown is now playing for one of the best offenses in the NFL now, his average point total will continue to climb and he should eclipse 300 points for a long time. Considering that Brown is still young, Washington made a great selection. Brown is widely considered to be a top 5 or 6 fantasy WR asset.

2 of 14: Myles Garrett – DE – Drafted by Green Bay in 2017
Choosing one through three was a difficult choice for me. All 3 players listed are near the top of their positions in the NFL. Garrett is an absolute physical freak. He has played 6 seasons in the IFL and has averaged 228.49 points. However, for his last two seasons he has scored over 300 points each year. After his first year in Cleveland, Garrett has been a wrecker of QBs and is constantly ranked as a top 3 DE. He is a candidate to score 30 points on any given weekend in the IFL and he still has several good years ahead of him. The EDGE designation reduces his value some, but anyone in the IFL would love to have this guy on their team.
3 of 14: Joe Burrow – QB – Drafted by Denver Broncos in 2020
Once again. Fuck you Dave. I put him 3rd because Dave didn’t need a QB and he was just trying to screw me. That being said, Burrow was a great pick. Kidding aside, I did not rank Burrow one or two just because there are several QBs who score like Burrow and you would expect a QB who gets drafted in the 1st round to hit. Burrow has played 3 IFL seasons and he has averaged 442 points. Burrow will be a top franchise QB in the IFL and NFL for many years. Bengals will lock up Burrow and Chase sometime in the near future and there is no reason to not assume that Burrow will become one of the NFL all time greats. Great pick Dave, you dickhead.

4 of 14: Darius Leonard – LB – Drafted by Pittsburgh in 2018
This was an absolute home run pick by Spencer. Leonard has played in the IFL for 5 seasons. The last season really wasn’t a season for him. That being said Leonard has averaged 261.8 points over that time. In my ranking process, if I am only looking at the value for Spencer’s team, Leonard would be the 1 of 14. However, in my ranking process I am also looking at future points. In my opinion, Leonard is finished. If it wasn’t for the injury, Leonard would be at the top of this list and would rank as one of the best draft picks in IFL history.

5 of 14: Kayvon Thibodeax – DE – Drafted by Philadelphia in 2022.
Tiff nailed this pick. What a difference a round makes. If you recall from the 1.16 discussion, Thibodeaux was ranked higher. That is only because the talent at the top of 1.15 is better. Kayvon started slow and finished the year with a bang. He scored 204 points his first year. I expect him to put up north of 240 points this year and to be a dominant force in the Giants defense for many years.

6 of 14: Christian Watson – WR – Drafted by Las Vegas Raiders in 2022
Anyone who garners a 1st and 2nd round taxi squad claim must be ranked high, correct? As a courtesy to the claim I had to put him here. Watson is a physical freak. He is big, fast, elegant man with big hands. Everything that Matt is not. Maybe that is why he desired him so much. Watson was a touchdown machine with Rodgers. Watson put up 164.75 points his first year. I think Watson has all of the tools to develop into a solid 225 point WR for many years in the IFL. He is still very raw but if Jordan Love develops, those two could be a dominant force for many years in the IFL.

7 of 14: Willie Gay – LB – Drafted by Washington in 2020
I think Willie belongs right in the middle of this list. He is a serviceable starting LB in the NFL. He won’t win you a league but he is also a solid low end starter. Willie has played in the IFL for 3 seasons. He has averaged 187.85 points over that time. Willie’s biggest issue is that he can’t stay on the field. If he could play all 16 games he could score 240 points. That is just a big if. This isn’t a bad pick for the 1.15. Willie should be a starting LB in the NFL for the next several years.

8 of 14: Jaylon Smith – LB – Drafted in 2016 by Tennessee Titans
Smith was a gamble pick. He was awesome at Notre Dame and then he suffered a horrific knee injury. He was drafted as future potential and he has averaged 182 points over his 7 year IFL career. From 2018 – 2020 Smith was really good. He averaged almost 250 points and made the draft pick a great one. I ranked him this low because he really only flourished for 3 years. During that time, however, he was a solid LB. Smith is now a free agent and probably will never be fantasy relevant again.
9 of 14: Kwitty Paye: DE – Drafted by Detroit in 2021
Paye has been pretty good when he is on the field. Unfortunately Paye also likes to not play because of injuries. Paye has played in the IFL for two seasons and has averaged 148.3 points over that time. It is a shame because when Paye plays he actually sacks the QB and is good against the run. If Paye is able to stay healthy, he will shoot up this ranking list. Until then, he is stuck at #9.

10 of 14: David Njoku – TE – Drafted by Cincinnati in 2017
What an athlete! He can run. He can catch. He just can’t play football well. Njoku has been in the IFL for 6 seasons and he has averaged 124.68 points. What is his problem? Is it the QB? Is it the offensive scheme? is it the Brown’s propensity to screw up each season? He has been in the league for 6 seasons and nobody knows. He still gets drafted and he continues to disappoint. The Browns resigned him and gave him some good money. Is this the year he finally comes through? I doubt it.
11 of 14: Michael Carter – RB – Selected by Buffalo in 2021
If I would have done this list after Carter’s rookie season, Travis’s pick would have been much higher. Everyone was excited about Carter then. He was quick and shifty. He was a nice pass catcher. The Jets were playing from behind and Carter was getting passes dumped off to him. During his first two years in the IFL Carter has averaged 187.55 points. Now back to the present and Carter isn’t going to be a starter in the IFL. He is a 3rd down back that probably won’t even be that on the Jets. The best bet for Carter is that he goes to another team and becomes CJ Procise.

12 of 14: Baker Mayfield – QB – Selected by San Francisco in 2018
If I was ranking TV acting then Baker would be a the top of this list. He is funny. He is great on camera. His wife Emily is pretty. It isn’t a good sign when I am talking about tv commericials instead of his NFL prowess. Baker has been in the league for 5 years and has averaged 308 points. That isn’t a good number for a starting QB in the IFL. Baker is playing for the only team where he had a chance to be the starting QB. It is probably only a matter of time before Tampa gets sick of Baker and moves to Kyle Trask.
13 of 14: Devonte Booker – RB – Selected by Washington in 2016
At least we all know who Booker is and he is still playing the in NFL after 7 seasons. Booker has averaged 111.2 points over his IFL 7 year career. If you were lucky enough to start him for a couple of his games when he was filling in for an injured player, you may have gotten starter’s points. Was Booker as bad as Keshawn Vaughn, absolutely not. However, when you are picking in the first round, you would hope to at least get a starter.

14 of 14: Clelin Ferrell – DE: Selected by Cleveland in 2019
This was the year that Kyle was going to take over the AFC by drafting defense. This was a terrible pick. Ferrell was draft 2nd overall in the NFL draft and he was a bust from day one. In 4 years, Ferrell has averaged 90.97 points. When he can into the league he was supposed to be good ahainst the run and was a solid pass rusher. He just isn’t good. This is the worst pick in the history of the IFL with the 1.15.

Thanks for reading. The Draft History of the 1.14 will be coming out next week sometime.
