Issue Six Point Five: The One With The Winners
It has been a whirlwind of after parties here in Houston, capping off the amazing and historical win for Matt and his team. I haven’t slept and need to catch a flight back up to the bay but not until I give to you my post game locker room interview with Matt.
Floyd: You have won the first ever IFL Puppy Bowl, can you tell me what you are feeling right now?
Matt: Well Floyd it’s a great feeling knowing that we are the world champions. I mean I have the best dogs in the world. It was a long season, cleaning up their shit in the kitchen, replacing the carpet after the game everyone is calling the Puke Bowl back in October, and who can forget the opening night trash can debacle. But we overcame diversity and now we are world champions.
Floyd: All of your players are coming back next season. Do you think this could be the start of a dynasty?
Matt: Of course. We are the team to beat and we know that the rest of the league will be coming for us. We will use the off-season to make improvements, which I think won’t be to hard because we are the best. I think we will change to a new brand of food, maybe some extra Milk Bones for the boys after practice.
Floyd: There was a bit of controversy late in the game and you were almost removed from the field when the game was tied late in the 4th. What do you think that did to your players.
Matt: Well when Bellyit coughed up that fur ball and the defense stopped to sniff and eat it, I felt like that was a legal play and the flag shouldn’t have been thrown. Luckily it was only a for five and not fifteen yards and we were able to kick that field goal. I think that my attitude is what shaped this team and I think that it brings a fire to the boys. I’m sure I will hear from the league on this one.
Floyd: I don’t want to keep you from the celebration. Is there anything that you want to say to your team.
Matt: Whose a good boy! You are all good boys! Now hit the showers and lets celebrate!
