Washington Dan Amnesty Cuts

As the great Lou Holtz once said:

“Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.”

Remember this day… Tuesday Jan 15th 2019 – Eight and half months in the making, 271 long, arduous days after being passed up, we here baby and we making moves and getting paper.

First order of business – Cutting the weak and extending the glorious.

Washington will be utilizing the 5 Amnesty cuts as part of the new owner process, these will be used against whatever dead cap hits from the 2018/19 season.

1) Dre Hal – 2 Year – $793,500
2) Aaron Burbage – 2 Year – $595,919
3) Tarell Basham – 3 Year – $546,336
4) Andrew Billings – 2 Year – $595,323
5) Michael Brockers – 2 Year – $793,500

Restructures:
The following players have been deemed surplus to requirements and have had their contracts reduced to deals ending in 2018 (1 year deals):

Daniel Sorensen – Tchau
Jay ACL Ajayi – Sayonara
Jabaal Sheard – Adios
Blake Bortles – Adieu
Rodney McLeod – Auf Weidersehen

We wish you fucks all the best with your future endeavors…

The following contract restructures are in the form of extensions:

Sean Payton  through 2021. (1 Year deal —> 4 Year deal)
Tyler Lockett  through 2021 (2 Year deal —> 4 Year deal)
David Moore  through 2021 (1 Year deal —> 4 Year deal)
Vincent Taylor through 2021 (1 Year deal —> 4 Year deal)
Khalil Mack  through 2021 (2 Year deal —> 4 Year deal)

Dan will have his work cut out for him this year, but with $132,461,967 in available cap space (before 2019 cap increase) he will be crushing folks with his wallet in free agency. I also fully expect Washington to act as a dumping ground for bad contracts. Dan has an excellent opportunity to pick up a few assets by disposing of other teams’ mistakes. In any event, it will be fun to see this all play out. Good luck Dan!
