Continue reading Marquee matchups #9IFL, the owners meeting vote is nearly upon us. And I know what a lot of you are asking: When can we trade?
Well the answer is quite simple you bastards: Once we handle the matters at hand. Below you will find the key issues that your vote will directly impact and my reason as to why i feel you should CONSIDER voting a certain way.

We have another fragmented MM for this week’s Bum fight of Dean v Prendo
“Well Prendo, we find ourselves in a good old fashioned fist fights in the streets this week. I don’t like your chances as a drunk Irishman versus a street kid from New Orleans. Mark can help you with trades and setting your lineup, but he can’t help you take this ass whooping!”
-Dean

I just flew in from Philly, and boy are my arms tired…What’s the deal with collared greens? I mean, what sort of vegetable…WEARS A SHIRT?!?
I apologize for that. This week we have three really great matchups for you. One Intercontinental grudgematch between a coconut and a potato, a Viking vs a Bear, and a couple 0-4 teams (yea, I see you won a couple games Dave, but you’re an 0-4 team, FYF).
Enjoy!

Welcome back! This week we’ve got a quartet of trash-talk videos for you, and there are some gems in here. Unfortunately nothing materialized in our Arizona v San Francisco bum fight, and our Tampa Bay v Carolina pallet-jackoff but hope you enjoy the rest…
Rivalry Matchup
(A heated, inner-divisional rivalry)Déjà vu
(Either a key SB or playoff replay from a day gone by)
Grudge Match
(Two GMs that have a general disdain for one another)“Finish Him”
(The match has serious playoff implications)
Wager Match
(There is a side bet riding on the match to some degree)BUMFIGHTS
(The title pretty much says it all)
Win Drought
(one GM has dominated the matchups historically)Challenger Approaches
(Anyone can challenge anyone)
Clash of Champions
(A H2H match with two of the IFL's previous Champions)Playoff Preview
(Two teams that could very likely see one another again...)

…and we’re back…
What a long fuckin offseason huh? I believe Marquee Matchups left off (threw in the towel) week 3 of 2017? Well since that time, I brought in two writers to help carry the load, so we can maybe make it to week 4 this year. Cause let’s face it, trying to motivate 6-10 teams to produce interesting content each week once the season starts is basically mission impossible, BUT, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Both Nic and Canad-i-Nate have been tasked to help me with assigning matchups, chasing down content & writing pieces this year. Continue reading Marquee Matchups: Week 1

We’re back for week 3 and we have a some really great matchups on our hands. I am not going to break down the article rules or concept starting with this edition and moving forward. Go read Ep. 1 or 2 to get that breakdown. This week we will jump right in…

Welcome back to Marquee Matchups: episode 2!
(Yay! We didn’t get lazy and cancel the series yet…yet)
First off, I want to run it back and explain to you to how the series works. (ATTN: Skip this section if you pay attention to stuff and already know how the series works)
I will select the matchups that catch my eye each week. There are currently 7 marquee categories (more to come?). Only one matchup per category, and not every category will be represented each week.
(yea… IFL studios got lazy and went cheap with the Groundhog Day category and logo)

Welcome to Marquee Matchups: first edition!
(and in true ‘Fully Torqued’ fashion, probably the last edition as well)
First off I want to introduce you to how the series works. I will select the matchups that catch my eye each week. There are currently 7 marquee categories (more to come?). Only one matchup per category, and not every category will be represented each week.
(yea… IFL studios got lazy and went cheap with the Groundhog Day category and logo)

In this new article series, I plan on taking a look at the key matchups each week. In my head, I fully intend on writing one per week, but will likely write one for week one and then never again.
